Mr. William Thomas “Bill” Hicks was born on April 13, 1960, to his father the late Mr. Broyles T. Hicks and his mother the late Mrs. Margaret Seamon Hicks. Mr. Hicks would spend his childhood growing up in the Wayne County area being surrounded by the beauty of nature the area has to offer and possessed an appreciation for the outdoors. As a child, he attended school in Waynesboro and was a good basketball player in high school graduating from Wayne County High in with the class of 1978 in Waynesboro, TN. Throughout the years. Being a hard worker, Mr. Hicks would wear many hats in several different occupations including as a truck driver and as a factory laborer for Maury Ohio Manufacturing in Lawrenceburg, TN. Throughout his life Mr. Bill would exude his passion for vintage classic cars restoring, detailing cars and giving new life to the older engineering, he loved. Possessing an eye for being able to see value in the vintage, he loved spending his time collecting, not only older vehicles but also coins and antiques. He also being mindful of his Lord worshipped for many years in the Baptist faith. However, nothing compared to the time he spent with family and friends. Mr. William Thomas “Bill” Hicks passed from this life on January 10, 2025, at the North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL at the age of 64 years, 8 months, and 28 days.
He is survived by his sister Susan “Sissie” Hicks of Waynesboro, TN; niece Tanisha Hicks of Linden, TN; nephew Eric Hicks of Waynesboro, TN; great-nephews Quinten Anderson and Eriq Hicks; great-nieces Zaylee Hicks, Keosha Yarbrough, Takia Yarbrough, and Mia Yarbrough great-great- niece Kali Yarbrough; great-great nephew Winston Tate Anderson; sister-in-law Clara Hicks; special friend Shelia Hill; as well as many cousins, loved ones and friends.
In addition to his parents and his brother William Turner " jug" Hicks he is also preceded in death by his girlfriend Janice Brewer.
Funeral services will be held Sunday January 19,2025 at 12:00 pm at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC chapel with Casey Jones officiating; burial following in the McCauley Cemetery in Waynesboro, TN.
Visitation will begin Sunday January 19,2025 from 11:00 am till 12:00 pm service time at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC chapel.
