William Marvin Dungan Jr, age 75 a resident of Savannah, TN, was born September 21, 1947 in Hazel Hurst, MS to William Marvin Dungan SR and Lila Inez Owen Dungan. William departed this life to enter the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his family, on September 13th 2023 at 9:47pm. William proudly served our country for 23 years with the United States Airforce, he was a Vietnam Veteran. After his retirement from the military, William became a truck driver for JB Hunt. He enjoyed building and collecting model cars and airplanes, he was an avid reader, pilot and treasure hunter with his metal detector. William’s children described him as the best daddy you could ever ask for. William was the man with a golden heart- he was caring, loving, compassionate, always willing to lend a hand and had a laugh bigger than life itself.
William was proceeded in death by his mother, Lila; his father, William SR; and his oldest granddaughter, Cassi Dungan McClain.
Survivors include his sister, Viki Matthews (Glen), his 3 daughters, Carrie Dungan Davis (Donnie), Toni Dungan McDowell (Jonathan) and Lela Dungan and His one son, William T. Dungan. His nephew Donnie (Pam), 2 nieces Heather (Donnie) and Amanda (Jonathan). The 2 mothers of his children, Wanda Carpenter and Sandra Graham. He leaves behind his 4 granddaughters, 4 grandsons; 8 great granddaughters, 2 great grandsons.
Memorial services to honor the life of William Marvin Dungan Jr will be scheduled at a later date. The family asks that in the leu of flowers, memorial donations be sent to your local kidney foundation or the multiple myeloma foundation.
