Mr. Valter Charles Cassel was born in Delhi Louisiana May 8, 1949 to the union of his late parents Mr. Hermon Cassel Sr. and Mrs. Katherine Margaret McKinney. After finishing highs school, Mr. Cassel would further his education and attend North Louisiana University with a focus on engineering. In his young adult years, he would meet and marry his wife Mrs. Anna Maria Robinson, the two would establish their family and spend their lives ma king memories together until her passing in 2018. Being a hard worker, he spent his occupational years as a truck driver and during his later years a maintenance worker for the Life Care Nursing Home in Columbia, TN. He was a member of the Beech Creek Full Gospel Church and in his leisure, time could be found outside enjoying nature while hunting and fishing. However, he held no moments closest to his heart than the time he spent with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Mr. Valter Charles Cassel passed from this life on Monday November 03, 2025 at his home on Beech Creek in Clifton, TN making his stay on this earth some 76 years and 5 months.
Those left to honor his memory include his children Veronica ‘Vonnie” Jordan and husband Eric of Downsville, LA, Valter “Chuck” Cassel Jr. and wife Veronica of Downsville, of LA, Michelle Leah Finley and husband John of Clifton, TN, Crissi Buteau husband Michael of orange City, Florida and Candy Laine Cassel of Louisiana; first wife Carolyn Barkley;17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren
In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by siblings Ruthie Lee Boone and Herman Cassel Jr.
Special mention to his church family at the River of Life Church in Downsville, LA. They love him and will always remember him.
A memorial service will be held at the Beech Creek Full Gospel Church at a later time.
