Sonoko (Isa) Smith

Sonoko Isa Smith was born to her parents the late Taruei Isa and Kama Isa in Okinawa Japan on August 1, 1930. She was united in marriage to Frank Wheeler Smith in April of 1959. She and her husband raised their family while traveling and living in several different locations during their life together as Mr. Smith proudly served his country in his military career but ultimately made Cypress Inn, TN their forever home.  Mrs. Smith was a homemaker, and enjoyed spending her time in her flower garden; she also enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for her family, watching sports but especially watching her favorite team the Atlanta Braves. Mrs. Smith departed this life at home at  the age of 93 years in Cypress Inn, TN September 6, 2023.

 Mrs. Sonoko is survived by daughters Mary West and her husband Ricky of Cypress Inn, TN, Masaka Smith of Fort Lauderdale FL; grandchildren Vanessa Strange and husband Rick of Atlanta, GA, Natasha Brooks and husband Burt of Naples, FL; great-grandchildren Carter, Vaughn, and Saxon; Sister Toyoko Taira and husband Sachiko of Japan and several nephews and nieces as well as many friends. 

Graveside services will be held Saturday September 9,2023 at 1:00 PM   Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Collinwood,TN.
