Ruth Ellen " Ruthie" Staggs

Mrs. Ruth Ellen “Ruthie” Staggs was born in Waynesboro, TN on December 14, 1944 to her parents the late Mr. Curtis Staggs and Mrs. Gertie Martin Staggs. Ruth was raised in the Waynesboro area and always loved the beauty of nature the area has to offer. She enjoyed walking in nature and around her neighborhood, often visiting the local stores and enjoying talking with the anyone she encountered. She was of the Baptist faith attending worship as often as she was able. In her leisure time she loved playing card games especially ‘Uno” “‘Go Fish “and “Old Maid” as well as “Bingo”. Spending time with her family and friends were always among her most cherished moments, making memories with those she loved most. Mrs. Ruth Ellen “Ruthie” Staggs passed from this life on January 23, 2026 in Nashville, TN making her stay on earth some 81 years, 1 month and 9 days.  

Those left to cherish her memory include her niece Joyce Daniels husband Rocky of Waynesboro, TN and nephew Terry Dixon of Athens, Al; grand children Brent Jenkins and Amy Jenkins; great- grandchildren Piper Loyed husband Bransyn and Lexi Jenkins; great-great- grandchildren Zayne Loyed and Zarah Loyed all of Lawrenceburg, TN; great niece Rachel Dixon of Athens, AL; great nephews Caleb Ginsberg; Brandon Ginsberg both of Waynesboro, TN as well as other family members, friends and loved ones.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter Jenny Staggs, grandson Bryan Jenkins; sister Ruby Dixon and brother Jimmy Dale Staggs

Funeral Services will be held Monday February 2, 2026 at 1:00 pm with Greg Eaton officiating, burial will follow in the McGlamery Cemetery in Collinwood, TN

Visitation will begin Monday February 2, 2026 beginning from 9:00 am till 1:00 pm service time all at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation chapel in Waynesboro, TN
