Rita Kay (Sawyer) Reeves

Rita Kay Sawyer Reeves of Decatur, GA, formerly of Florence, AL was born April 8, 1956 in Alamo, TN to the late Sam Sawyer Jr. and Doris Burns Simmons. She devoted her working life taking care of others through service as a Registered Nurse. This was a profession she loved and was proud to have served 35 years. In her free time, she loved sewing or sitting down with a good book. Ms. Reeves departed this life on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 making her stay in this life some 69 years, 11 months, and 24 days.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Benji Harris of Austin, TX; sister, Wanda Tejeda and husband Mike of Florence, AL; nieces, Angela Conley, Marisa Rogers; nephew, Wes Holland as well as a host of great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janis Conley.
