Reacel Sherrill was born November 03, 1936 in Wayne County, TN to the union of the late Clay and Effie Foster Sherrill. He was united in marriage to the former Katherin Thompson on November 08, 1958. Mrs. Sherrill preceded him in death on November 22, 1992. Mr. Sherrill honorably served his country in the United States Army and the United States National Guard. He was a member of the Waynesboro American Legion and Green River Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to flea markets, antiques, going to auctions, but will be especially remembered for his love of spreading the Gospel. Mr. Sherrill departed this life on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro making his stay in this life some 87 years, 4 months, and 25 days.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his daughter, Gina Walls and husband Dale of Waynesboro, TN; one brother, Will Sherrill and wife Betty of Waynesboro, TN; two grandchildren, Daniel Dooley and wife Ashton of Adamsville, TN; Brittney Warren and husband James of Waynesboro, TN; he is also survived by five great grandchildren, Jaylee Warren, Matt Dooley, Jacob Dooley, Alli Dooley, and Haven Warren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by 6 brothers.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel with David Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery with full military honors.
