Randy Dale Battles

Mr. Randy Dale Battles was born in Brookwood, AL on September 17, 1959 to his parents the late  Mr. Elmer Battles and Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Higginbottom. Mr. Randy Battles would spend his childhood in enjoying the beauty of nature in Alabama and attend school there. After his academic years, he would meet his future wife Mrs. Barbara Joan Vanderford and the two would wed on April 01, 1977 joining their hearts and families together for the next 48 years. The couple would make Clifton, TN their forever home, raise their family together while setting roots in the community. Mr. Battles, being a hard worker and excellent provider, spent much of his career as a auto mechanic owing and managing an Auto Mechanic shop for over 30 years  and after his tenure as a mechanic he would spend the rest of his working years as a dump truck driver. In his leisure time he could be found gardening and communing with nature and drag racing. Though his life was full with purpose, perhaps his most valued position would be the 30 plus years he would serve his community as a Clifton Volunteer Fire Department fire fighter working his way to the position of  Fire  Chief, keeping the people and homes in the community safe. However, no joys in life compared to the memories made and  the moments spent with his children, grandchildren, family members and friends. Mr. Randy Dale Battles passed from this life surrounded by family on July  06, 2025 at his home in Clifton, TN making his stay on this earth some 65 years, 9 months and 19 days.

Those left  to honor his memory are his wife Barbara Joan Vanderford Battles; sons Kenneth “Kenny” Battles and wife Allison of Lewisburg, TN, Eric James Battles and wife Natalie of Waynesboro, TN; daughter Miranda Jane Battles and husband Russ of Clifton, TN; grandchildren Elizabeth Nicole Battles, Cooper Scott Battles, Ethan Battles, Katherine Battles, Caroline Battles, Madeline Battles, Josaline Battles, Aila Battles, Lucas Battles and Malcom Battles; brother Paul Edward Battles and wife Janice of Clifton, TN; daughter-in-law Stacey Battles Potts; nephew Paul Ashley Battles and niece Carrie Beth Battles both of Savannah, TN as well as many other family, friends and dear loved ones.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son Randy Scott Battles.

Funeral services will be held Thursday July 10, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the Clifton Fire Hall with Randy Burns and Charles Linam officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday July 09, 2025 beginning at 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC Chapel in Waynesboro, TN and again from 12:00 pm till 3:00 pm at the Clifton Volunteer Fire Hall in Clifton, TN.
