Maria Del Carmen Cathcart was born July 16, 1936, in Loreto, Mexico to her late father Simon Armendariz and her late mother Lydia Armendariz. After attending school, she would live in various locations across North America and in 1972 be united in marriage to Mr. Orbley Cathcart. The two would build their family and remain married until his passing. Ms. Cathcart was a hard worker as she would spend her adult life employed in janitorial services as well as her domestic responsibilities as a wife, mother and caregiver. Her relationship with her God was always the center of her heart as she was a member of the Baptist Church in New Athens, Ill. In her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting, Crocheting, dancing to music (especially hip hop) and listening to any upbeat music. Still closest to her heart was always her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many other family members, friends and loved ones. Mrs. Maria Del Carmen Cathcart passed from this life in Lawrenceburg, TN at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by her children Valentin Grimaldo of Chicago, Ill., Enrique Armendariz of Chicago, Ill., Maria Cathcart of Marrisa, Ill. and Rosie Daniel and husband Jeff of Collinwood, TN and David Jose Cathcart of Marissa, Ill.; her sister Maria Armendariz of Chicago, Ill. several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many other family members and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held Sunday November 17, 2024, at 3:00 pm with Steven Stults officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Saturday November 16, 2024, from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm and again on Sunday November 17, 2024, from 1:00 pnm till service time at 3:00 pm all at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC Chapel
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jeff Daniel, Justin Cambell, Alex Skaggs, Johhny Hensley, Robert King, Norman Staggs, Schyler Dnaiel and Seth Kelley.
