Mr. Loyd Cullen Sanders was born in Waynesboro on February 18, 1955 to his parents the late Mr. Loyd Sanders and Mrs. Billie Sue Horton Sanders. The late grandparents W.L. and Gladys Sanders and Bill and Leona Horton. He was raised in Waynesboro and spent his scholastic career in Waynesboro until he graduated Wayne County High with the class of 1973. Mr. Sanders would begin his occupational career as a truck driver from which he would retire after over 40 years of service. He enjoyed seeing the country and all the people he met along the way. He being spiritually minded, was of the Baptist faith. He loved people and could always be depended on to help those whom were down trodden. Later in life, he would meet his future companion and significant other and the two would begin their relationship in 2010 and would remain a part of each other’s lives until his passing. Of course, nothing in life compared in his heart to the moments he spent with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Mr. Loyd Cullen Sanders departed this life on June 06, 2025 in Lawrenceburg, TN making his stay on this earth some 70 years, 3 months and 19 days.
Those left to cherish his memory include his close significant other of over 16 years Mrs. Shelia Anderson of Waynesboro, TN ;children Justin Sanders and wife Brittany, Christina Mace and husband John, grandchildren Alex Mace and wife Violet, Lucas Mace, Gavin Mace; sisters Karen Sue Cannon and husband Steve of Waynesboro, TN and Billie Carol Lynn and husband Stacy of Fairview, TN; brothers Douglas Sanders and wife Betina and Timothy Sanders and wife Paige all of Waynesboro, TN; nieces Chloe Campbell an husband Conner, Maggie Lynn and Riley Butler and husband Wesley; nephews Garrett Sanders and wife Vanessa, Wesley Sanders, Jacob Sanders and wife Millie, Ethan Lynn and wife Brittany and Corbin Lynn; Aunts Jewel Sanders, Lefan Cole, Dean Donovan, Paulette Smith, Bonnie Sanders and Gail Horton; uncles Bill Donovan, Billy Sanders and Dave Clifton; Cousins Bob Sanders, Judy Hartsfield and husband Nicky, Keith Sandes and wife Joyce, Beth Ann Lisenba, Jill Johns and husband Matthew, DeWayne Cole and wife Donna, Billy Donovan and wife Leslie, Donnie Donovan and wife Sabrina, Lori Ann Donovan, Jessica Baldwin and husband Mike and Sarina Smith and the late David Clifton
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt Shelby Jean Clifton and uncles Floyd Sanders, Robert Sanders, Jerry Horton, Gilbert Cole.
Memorial Services for Loyd Cullen Sanders will be held June 14, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Green River Baptist Church.
