Mr. Leamon Joyl Quillen was born January 15, 1942 in Hohenwald, TN to the late Sidney and Minnie Turnbow Quillen. He was united in marriage to Margie Lee Holt on September 12, 1959. He worked and lived in Waynesboro,TN where he and his wife of almost 64 years raised their family. He attended the Wayne County Bible Center where he loved worshiping , praising God and as he would describe it "singing the Gospel". He served his community and the surrounding areas as a car salesman and mechanic. He proudly owned the renowned "Leamon's. Used Cars" in Waynesboro where he worked and greeted his customers. He loved auto mechanics and driving race cars, a love which his sons inherited and inspired all who spent time with and knew him. Keeping in touch with his love for the outdoors, he also enjoyed both squirrel and rabbit hunting. Being an avid family man, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his beloved dog "Harvey" and his friends all whom he dearly loved. Mr. Quillen quietly passed from this life to be with the Lord at his home Sunday September 3,2023.
Survivors include his wife Margie Lee Holt Quillen; sons Terry Wayne Quillen and wife Sonya, Leamon Keith Quillen and wife Elizabeth; daughter Brenda Faye Quillen Butler and husband David all of Waynesboro; grandchildren Brent Quillen, Brooke Foster and husband Joey, Kyle Quillen and wife Laci; great-grandchildren Jace Foster, Brenly Quillen and future great-granddaughter A.J. Quillen; sisters Modine Dixon of Waynesboro,TN and Jenice Holt of Toledo,OH.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 11 of his siblings.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 6 at 2:00 PM at the Wayne County Bible Center with Mr. Leo Doyle officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the Wayne County Bible Center Wednesday September 6 from 11:00 AM till service time. Committal services and burial will be held directly after funeral services at the Wayne County Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro, TN.
Pallbearers include: Brent Quillen, Kyle Quillen, Jace Foster, Joey Foster, Patrick Butler, David Sisk, Daniel Doyle and James Newcomb.
Singers for the funeral service include; James Newcomb and Jerold Duncan.
