Larry Wayne Staggs

Mr. Larry Wayne Staggs was born on Match 08, 1950 to the late Henry Farce and Katy Mae Thorton Staggs in Waynesboro, TN. He would spend his childhood, finish high school and marry the love of his life Ms. Janet Graves on December 10, 1970. Mr. Staggs and his wife would make Waynesboro their forever home working, raising their sons and making a lifetime of memories watching his sons grow into the men that made him proud. He vehemently loved his family and one of his greatest joys, later in life, would be spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren. The only relationship, other than his family, that he held dear to his heart was his relationship with God and church family. He was a long-time member of the Green River Baptist Church, rarely missing the opportunity to worship with his beloved family and friends at the congregation he held dear.  Mr. Staggs was also known to be a very hard worker, providing for his family as a sawmill owner, sawmill operator, log buyer and property owner and manager of his various properties across the Waynesboro area. Mr. Staggs will be remembered as a great family man, Christian and friend to all who knew him. Mr. Larry Wayne Staggs passed from this life on October 08, 2024, in Waynesboro, TN making his stay on this earth some 74 years.  

He is survived by his wife Janet Staggs of Waynesboro, TN; sons Travis Staggs and wife Amanda of Mucsle Shoals, AL and Kevin Staggs and wife Jill of Waynesboro, TN; grand-children Sawyer Staggs, Brayden Staggs, Shayna Kay Staggs and Sophie Staggs.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Bobby Neal Staggs and sister-in-law Lana Kay Staggs

Funeral Services will be held Friday October 11, at 1:00 pm with Dr. Kerry Franks officiating, burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Waynesboro. 

Visitation will begin Thursday October 10, 2024, at 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm and again Friday October 11, 2024, from 10:00 am till 1:00 pm service time. 

All services will be held at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC chapel in Waynesboro, TN

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jeff Staggs, Jim Stutts, Jay Stutts, Ricky Casteel, Sawyer Staggs and Brayden Staggs.
