Mr. Jerry Clyde Riley was born July 21, 1941, in Clifton, TN to the late James Edward Riley SR. and Josephine McElroy Riley. Mr. Riley would marry Sherry Riley and they would remain married until her death in 2009.He spent his professional career in the construction business as a painter. Mr. Riley was a member of the Church of God in Waynesboro where he taught many years. He was a mentor to many as he was always dependable, trustworthy and always faithful to his family and his God. He enjoyed listening to music, was an avid fisherman, loved to hunt and dig for arrowheads. He loved the outdoors and would spend time enjoying Gods beautiful handywork. Mr. Riley passed from this life on June 04, 2024, at NHC Health Care in Lewisburg, TN, making his stay upon this earth some 82 year, 10 months and 14 days.
Survivors include his children Ricky Riley wife (Lori) of Pulaski, TN, Lisa Riley and Tim Riley both of Spartanburg SC, Sherry Riley Beeler and husband Terry of Washburn, TN, Dana Riley Bratcher of Clarksville, TN, and Jacob Riley of Waynesboro, TN; sister-in law Linda Riley; several loving grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Floyd Riley and wife (Mamie), John Wesley Riley and wife (Margie), Tommy Riley, George Edward Riley and wife (Bonnie), Mary Ruth Kilburn, Reba Dicus, Ruby Riley York, Hoyt Gene Riley, Carolyn Riley and Wilson Riley.
Funeral services will be held Saturday June 8, 2024, at 1200 noon at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation building with Bro. Tom Repetto officiating, Burial will follow in the Shields cemetery.
Visitation will begin Saturday June 8, 2024, at 10:00 am until 12:00 pm service time at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC chapel in Waynesboro, TN.
