James William Kilburn was born June 19, 1947 in Wayne County to the late Neil Alonzo and Beulah Frester Kilburn. Mr. Kilburn was raised in the Wayne County area and developed a great love for the outdoors. He was united in marriage to the late Reba Dixon Kilburn on June 23, 1975. The two would make Wayne County their forever home. To the union they were blessed with a son, Johnny Kilburn. He enjoyed working with his hands, and found great enjoyment working for Hassell and Hughes as a sawmill operator for 38 years. Mr. Kilburn being a man with deep devotion to God was a servant of the Pentecostal faith in several places during his life. He and his family serving the Church through music and ministry provided an excellent example for the community. Mr. Kilburn has most recently been a member of Thee Church in Savannah, TN. He departed this life for his heavenly home on June 17, 2025 making his stay in this life some 77 years, 11 months and 30 days.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Johnny Kilburn and wife Sheree of Collinwood, TN; two grandchildren, Nikolai and Nadiyah Kilburn.
Visitation with the Kilburn family will be on Monday, June 23, 2025 from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM
Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel with Robert Marks and Larry Vandiver officiating. Interment will follow in the Shields Cemetery.
