James Ray English

Mr. James Ray English was born in Florence, Al January 03, 1954 to his parents the late Mr. James English and the late Mrs. Shirley South English Miley and her husband Earl Miley. After graduating from high school, he would wear several hats in his occupational experience, two of those being as a painter and a Water Plant Operator in Waynesboro, TN.  He loved living in Wayne County enjoying all the beauty of nature the area has to offer. He enjoyed spending time in his flower garden and loved watching his flowers bloom in the spring but nothing took precedence over watching Alabama Football when they were playing, never missing a game. Being an avid sports fan, he also loved watching his beloved baseball team the Chicago Cubs getting excited every time they won. He also made time for his God as he worshipped for several years at Faith Tabernacle in Florence whenever he could attend. However, nothing compared to the time he spent with his family and friends. Mr. James Ray English passed from this life on January 21, 2025 at the Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN making his stay on this earth some 71 years and 18 days.

He is survived by his significant other of 19 years Karen C. Butler of Waynesboro, TN; children Jennifer English and significant other Joey Lash of Rogersville, AL,; Billy Ray English and girlfriend Jennifer Watson of Muscle Shoals, AL Debbie Gilbert and husband Danny of Waynesboro, TN, Heather Butler and fiancé Hunter Still of Waynesboro, TN,; Siblings include brothers Tim English of Ford City, Al Scotty Skipworth and wife Mary Alice of Tuscumbia, AL, Jody Skipworth and wife Ladonna of Green Hill, AL, and sister Stephanie Scogin and husband David of Tuscumbia; grandchildren include Jenna Perry and husband Josh of Rogersville, AL; Jayden Wilbanks and wife Kirsten of PA, Charlie Gilbert and girlfriend Tiffany of Waynesboro; Daylan Gilbert and wife Veronica of Waynesboro, TN; Chloe English of Indianapolis, IN; Tyler Bash and wife Lily of Jacksonville, NC great-grandchildren are Braelin Smith and Hudsyn Perry of Rogersville, AL and Gavin Gilbert and Noah Gilbert of Waynesboro

In addition to his parents Mr. James English is preceded in death by brothers Nick and Levi Miley and a grandson Jamason Wilbanks.

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.
