Harold Griggs was born April 13, 1960 in Wayne County, TN to the union of the late Calvin Lee and Bulah Mae Kilburn Griggs. He was united in marriage to Joan Griggs on April 08, 1989. He was a member of Hickory Springs Holiness Church, enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping, and being outdoors. He was as a carpenter with the Pinecraft Furniture Company and worked with the City of Waynesboro. Mr. Griggs departed this life on Sunday, April 07, 2024 in Waynesboro making his stay in this life 63 years, 11 months, and 26 days.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Joan Griggs; two daughters, Jennifer Horton; Tiffany Griggs all of Waynesboro, TN a step-daughter, Kim Pennington (Jamie) of Lawrenceburg, TN; a great niece and nephew, Kaitlyn and Kevin Griggs; two brothers, Willie Griggs; Alvin Griggs both of Collinwood, TN; one grandson, Cody Reeves of Waynesboro, TN; one step-granddaughter, Renee Hooker (Ryan) of Lawrenceburg, TN; He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and his two furbabies, Nancy and Sissy.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Griggs; five sisters, Dorothy Erby, Pearline Collins, Irene Daniel, Marie Thompson, Hazel Griggs; and three brothers, George Griggs, Melvin Griggs, and Ronald Griggs.
Visitation with the Griggs family will be on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM all at Bates- Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel with Casey Jones and Paul Odle officiating. Burial will follow in the Forty-Eight Creek Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery
