Flora Evelyn (Peacock) Lacher

Flora Evelyn Peacock Lacher was born February 10, 1926 in Waynesboro, TN to the union of the late James Grady and Lillie Hester Devers Peacock. She was united in marriage to Allen Lacher Jr. in November of 1945. Mr. Lacher preceded her in death on April 03, 2012. Mrs. Lacher was a member of the Waynesboro Eastern Star and the Waynesboro First Fellowship Church. She worked as the city recorder for the city of Waynesboro, loved to cook, playing bunko, playing pinochle, and will be remembered for her years of selling Avon. Mrs. Flora departed this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 in Waynesboro making her stay in this life some 98 years, 3 months and 6 days.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children, Richard Lacher (Carolyn); Sandra Pitts both of Waynesboro, TN; one sister, Joyce Grimes of Lawton, OK; six grandchildren, Anthony Lacher of Nashville, TN; Mark Hughes (Joby) of Waynesboro, TN; Teri Lacher of Columbia, TN; Johna Pitts of Richmond, VA; Martha Pitts of Murfreesboro, TN; Ross Pitts of Mt. Juliet, TN; five great grandchildren, Jade Lacher (Kyler Nutt); Alexandria Hargrove (Ben); Tyler Hughes; Ethan Lacher (Lindsay); Stratton Weisman. She is also survived by nine great-great grandchildren, Peyton and Paizlee Griggs; Parker Nutt; Camryn, Dakota, and Bodhi Hargrove; Madalynn and Hazel Hughes; and Casey Lacher and several nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Pitts and one sister, Mary Nell Edwards.

Visitation with the Lacher family will be on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM at Waynesboro First Fellowship Church.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Waynesboro First Fellowship Church with N.J. Pope officiating. Interment will follow in Waynesboro Memorial Gardens.
 

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given to: The Butterfly Foundation, Janet J. Smith Foundation, Waynesboro First Fellowship Church, or County Road Animal Rescue.
