Emma Stricklin Obituary

Emma Nola Dixon Stricklin was born June 23, 1933, in Wayne County, TN to the union of the late Fred and Belle Bryant Dixon. She was united in marriage to James W. “Billy” Stricklin on October 07, 1950. Mr. Stricklin preceded her in death on November 25, 2007. Together, they ran the family farm on Natural Bridge Road for sixty plus years. Her family will lovingly remember sitting around a full table. Mrs. Stricklin loved cooking meals for her family and friends. The entire family would often gather on Wednesday evenings to spend time together around her table. She also loved to work in her flower garden, needle craft, watching and feeding the birds, rocking babies and decorating for Christmas. In her true fashion, she used her talents to make stockings for the grandkids and great grandkids as well as many other needle crafts that she gave to loved ones. Her first priority was her family, she spent many years taking care of them as a homemaker, then moving on to factory work, a retail clerk and retiring as a Special Education Assistant from the Wayne County Schools. She will fondly be remembered by most as MeMomma, Aunt Em, or as her school babies lovingly called her, Mrs. Em. She was deeply rooted in her faith having attended church at Mt. Hope for many years.  Mrs. Stricklin passed from this life to her eternal reward on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Waynesboro, TN making her stay in this life 90 years, 10 months, and 10 days.
