Mr. Edward Robert Sevcik was born Tuesday, September 22, 1953, in Chicago, IL to the union of the late Edward “Moose” and Bernadette Marie Dean Sevcik. He was united in marriage to the former Judith Ann Cichon on December 23, 2014. Mr. Ed was a proud veteran. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. While in the Marines, he served three tours in Vietnam. He was a current member of the National American Legion and former SGT at Arms in the Commodore Barry Post 256 in Berwyn, IL. His love of driving cross country served him well in his chosen profession as a professional driver for several trucking companies. Mr. Sevcik loved baking and tried many different Gluten Free recipes for his wife’s dietary restrictions. He attended the Clifton United Methodist Church and was a member of the Lakes Church in Auburndale, FL. Mr. Sevcik went to his eternal reward after a long battle with COPD on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the age of 69. He fought a good fight and used his illness to show the impacts of smoking. His hope was to help just one person to be spared this health event.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Judith Ann Cichon Sevcik of Clifton, TN; a daughter Christina Marie Ketchersid of Manistique, MI; a son Edward Michael Sevcik of Illinois; a brother Gregory M. Sevcik and wife Cindy of Bolingbrook, IL; three grandchildren, Brandon Ketchersid and wife Jes; Devon Ketchersid and Andre Thomas. Three great grandchildren, Cadence, Carter, and Asher. He is also survived by his loving furbabies, Oliver and Arabella.
