Douglas Kightlinger Obituary

Mr. Douglas James Kightlinger was  born in Missouri on July 19, 1961 to his parents the late Dr. James Kightlinger and Mrs. Jacquelyn Wiecht Kightlinger. He spent his adolescent years in Sharon, PA attending school and in high school developing his talents for music and the arts playing the Saxophone in the high school band and acting in several school plays. After graduating high school he spent his occupational years as a truck driver an occupation he would remain in for over 30 years. He  enjoyed meeting new people and seeing the countryside in his travels throughout the years. In June 12, 1993 he would marry his wife Mrs. Michelle Gibbs Kightlinger and the two would remain married until his passing eventually making Hardin County, TN their home. Mr. Kightlinger was of the Catholic faith and devoted his time to assisting the local  Catholic Dioceses wherever he lived.  In his leisure time, he could be found golfing, watching baseball the "Chicago Cubs" being his favorite baseball team and football especially his favorite teams the "Pittsburg Steelers" and the "Florida Gators" anytime they took the field. However, he held no other time closest to his heart than the moments he spent with his family and friends. He often reminisced about the times spent with his brothers. Remembering the serpentarium  "Gator Land" and how at Disney World he could mimic the sounds of the birds in the Tiki room causing everyone to think the birds had escaped. However one knew him, those who's lives were touched by his presence will be forever changed and his memory forever cherished.  Mr. Douglas James Kightlinger passed from this life on March 18, 2026 making his stay on this earth some 64 years and seven months.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Mrs. Michelle Gibbs Kightlinger of Savannah, TN; daughter Toni Jacobson husband Robert, of Nelson, Wisconsin; siblings David Kightlinger wife Joanne, Jon Kightlinger wife Kathleen, Jan Jennings, Linda Storz, Eric Kightlinger and wife and Jami Williamson husband Douglas; grandchildren Jonathan Jacobson, Alisha Gibbs, William Jacobson, Dillon Gibbs, Brett Jacobson and Reagan Jacobson; great grandchildren Calvin Gibbs, Daxton Gibbs and Asher Gibbs
