Mr. Dennis Robert Pearce was born on August 20, 1947 in Waynesboro, TN, to his parents the late Mr. Elmer Pearce and Mrs. Jewel Dean Swinea Pearce. Mr. Pearce would spend his childhood between Tennessee and Illinois following his parents as they found work and business opportunities exploring different cultures and settings of the United States during his travels, until he reached his late teens as he and his uncle Steven Swinea, would move into a house together in Waynesboro and finish their high school tenure with the Class of 1966. After high school, Dennis joined the United States Army, a time period in his life which he always cherished and held dear to his heart learning many life lessons and being trained in his future vocational field of Cable Lineman in Telecommunications, serving proudly and honorably. Throughout his years of service he would make many friends, explore many different opportunities and immensely enjoy the years of his Tour of Duty especially during the Vietnam War. Eventually, joining the “Green Berets” a level of duty he was very proud of and in a capacity of which he was honored to serve. After his many years of military service, he would return to his home of Waynesboro, TN and resume civilian life in his chosen profession of “Cable Splicer”, a term which he himself coined, he worked many hours and taught the trade to any of his cousins that showed interest in the employment. Mr. Pearce was a deeply devoted family-oriented man, a strong staple within his family, always dependable for any need that arose. In his leisure time he was always available for playing cards whether in a casino or just around a friends table. He knew many card games but “Poker” was his favorite of which he would brag of his proficiency, as well as chess and many others. Dennis being well known in his community, also enjoyed making his rounds to the local cafes and gas stations picking out lottery numbers because he was convinced, he could “beat the lotto”. One would be remise not to mention his love for animals. Especially dogs never forgetting his favorite dog “Rocky”, a Rottweiler he himself trained extensively that would rival any other service animal in its class. To those who knew him best, he will be remembered as a strong, hardworking, man of his convictions a soldier, proud blue collar working Cable Installer and maintainer and family man who always took the time to tell of his adventurous life, entertaining and teaching many of those whom he encountered. Mr. Dennis Robert Pearce passed from this life on September 29,2025 in Savannah, TN making his stay on this earth some 78 years, 1 month and 9 days. A life that would forever change the world for those who knew him and a lament for those who didn’t.
