David Joe Pitts

Mr. David Joe “Bush” Pitts was born July 17, 1960 to his parents the late Mr. J.C. Pitts and Mrs. Immogene Staggs Pitts in Waynesboro, TN. Mr. Pitts was raised in Wayne County and developed a love for the outdoors, a passion that would last his entire life. He worked in various different vocations throughout the years but spent most of his career as a sawmill worker but also performing small jobs for people such as mowing lawns. In his leisure time, he could be found fishing, swimming, shopping in various shops in town and talking to anyone who he encountered. Mr. Pitts also enjoyed digging for ginseng during the summer months. He was of the Christian faith and attended the Cornerstone Church in Collinwood when he was able. Those who knew him best will remember him as a friendly, loving, hardworking, brother, uncle and friend.  Mr. David Joe “Bush” Pitts passed from this life on August 09, 2025 at the Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN making his stay on this earth some 65 years and 23 days.

Those left to honor his memory include his siblings Jerry Pitts of Savannah, TN; Dorothy Brewer (Bill) of Collinwood, TN; Diane Pitts and Judy Miller (Michael) all of Nashville, TN; nieces Michelle Miller and Millie Miller; nephews Christopher Pitts, Mark Whitney, Chuck Whitney and Dakota Pitts; great nephews Mason Whitney, Christopher Earl Pitts and Kristian Pitts; great niece Talley Miller; as well as many other family members, friends and loved ones

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Marshall Pitts

Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Cornerstone Church of Collinwood. Visitation with the family will be held at the Cornerstone Church of Collinwood from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm service time.
