Darlene Kay Johnson Moyers was born December 11, 1952 in Mt. Pleasant Iowa to the union of the late Delbert and Wilma Ardis Layman Johnson. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Moyers in early 1981. The two of them would remain married for 32 years until his passing in 2013. Ms. Moyers was a very talented person. Her talents were often demonstrated by her love of crocheting, sewing, and making quilts. She will also be remembered for her love of being in the great outdoors. When she was able, she enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing bingo. However, her family will always remember her great love for Walker Texas Ranger. Many from the community will remember her from her service when she worked for Save-A-Lot. Ms. Moyers departed this life on Sunday, November 2, 2025 making her stay in this life some 72 years, 10 months, and 23 days.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children, Travis Johnson and wife Crystal of Johnson City, TN; Angie Lara and husband Enrique; Tonya Hobbs and husband John both of Clifton, TN; Leanna Smith and husband Jerry of Waynesboro, TN; Robert Moyers and wife Heather of Clifton, TN; two sisters, Melba Johnson; Beverly Johnson both of Burlington, Iowa; She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister Patricia Johnson and a brother Johnny Johnson.
