Colin P Potete was born August 03, 1942 in Waynesboro, TN to the union of the late James Burton and Laura Duncan Potete. He was united in marriage to the former Sylvia Mae Bostic on July 05, 1963. He was a member of Zion Acres Freewill Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, TN and will be fondly remembered for his love of farming, fishing, and raising a garden. Mr. Potete departed this life on Friday, May 10, 2024 in Waynesboro, TN making his stay in this life some 81 years, 9 months, and 7 days.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of almost 61 years, Sylvia Mae Bostic Potete of Waynesboro, TN; two children, Gerald Potete and wife Patricia of Double Springs, AL; Regina Wright and husband Chris of Anchorage, AK; one sister, Mary Morgan of Collinwood, TN; He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Daniel Potete and wife Gypsy; Vicky Burns and husband Steven; Rebecca Kelley and husband Daniel; Allen Potete and wife Shyanne; Phillip Potete and wife Brooklyn; Tyler Potete; Kayla Potete; Jordan Wright; Jason Wright and ten great grandchildren, Amelia, Natalie and Caroline Potete; Emma, Ace, and Remi Kelley; Lily Grace and Luke Burns; Lakelyn and Waylon Potete.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Gregory Potete; and his siblings, James Potete, Bernice Moser, Leo Potete, and Charles Potete.
Visitation with the Potete family will be on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM all at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel with Doug Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
