Clara Nell “Gangie” Pope Vencion was born June 6, 1941 in Wayne County, TN to the union of the late Harvey B. and Audrey Ann Davis Pope. She graduated from Wayne County High School in 1959. After graduation, she was united in marriage to James E. Vencion on December 12, 1959 forever intertwining their hearts, lives, and families together. They would remain married until his passing on November 12, 2002. This union was blessed with two children, Kim and Lisa. Mrs. Clara Nell and her husband James demonstrated an immense faith in their Lord and Savior through a dedicated membership of the Waynesboro Church of God. She served as the church clerk for many years. Gangie demonstrated her faith in her daily life illustrating her Christian beliefs to anyone she encountered. She worked as the assistant plant manager for the Angelica Manufacturing Company in Waynesboro where she gained her love for sewing. In addition to sewing, she enjoyed quilting. Throughout the years many family members would receive quilts and hand sewn garments with every stitch full of love. She was especially talented in the kitchen, many will remember her famous fried pies. Gangie enjoyed going on adventures, especially with her double-first cousin, Christine Bratcher. If you knew Gangie very long, you knew that nothing in her life was as important as her faith and family. She was the biggest supporter of everything her kids and grandkids pursued. She loved nothing more than to be in the midst of a room full of the love of her family.
