Charles Franklin Grimes was born November 16, 1953 in Hardin County Tennessee to the late Alvin Franklin “Frank” Grimes and Nannie Ruth McLin Grimes Busby. Mr. Grimes was united in marriage to the former Donna Morrow on December 16, 1987. He was of the Baptist faith. During his working career, he was a Security Guard at CCA South Central in Clifton and a farmer on the side. He loved his farm, especially his horses. He loved to spend time in the outdoors, watching deer and birds. Mr. Grimes departed this life on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in Waynesboro, TN making his stay in this life some 71 years, 1 month, and 30 days.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 37 years, Donna Morrow Grimes of Waynesboro, TN; one daughter Amber Kiddy Earnhart and husband Lonny of Waynesboro, TN; five sisters, Janet Grimes, Hank Tanner, Angie Williamson, Melissa Harris, and Bobbie Sue Grimes. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Makaela Gobbell, Ty Pulley, Charlee Pulley, Landon Dugger and Grayson Dugger and one great grandchild, Maven Gobbell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Billy Grimes and one sister Ruth Grimes.
Visitation with the Grimes family will be on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evans Chapel Cemetery.
