Cathy Jean (Hughes) Skelton

Cathy Jean Hughes Skelton was born September 03, 1950 in Loretto, TN to her parents the late Mr. Thomas O’ Neal Hughes and Mrs. Juanita Estel Ayers Hughes. Cathy, in her formative years, spent her childhood in middle Tennessee developing a love for the outdoors, a passion that would last throughout her lifetime. In her adulthood, she would work in various places such as the Fitness Spa located in Wayne County and in the dietary department at the Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro.  Mrs., Skelton was of the Christian faith having been baptized at the Waynesboro Church of Christ. In her leisure time she could be found kayaking and enjoying nature. Still, nothing compared to the precious moments she spent with her family, friends and other dear loved ones.  Mrs. Cathy Jean Hughes Skelton passed from this life on August 09, 2025 in Waynesboro, TN making her stay on this earth some 74 years.

Those left to honor her memory include her children Lorinda Skelton Davis (Tommy), Timothy Skelton (Lou Cinda) and Weston Skelton all of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren Canitha Skelton, Meagen Skelton, Jeremy Pulley, Kristen Skelton, Travis Pulley and Alyssa Skelton; great grand children Brooklyn Hammack, Jayden Mayo, Paisley Davis, Jerra Pulley, Kynlee Kilburn, Ella Pulley, Bentley Davis, Millie Jo Pulley, Layla Kilburn, Lila Pulley, Indy Pulley, Hadley Skelton and Maicee Skelton; siblings Billy Hughes (Almeda) and Anita Jackson (Ricky) both of Pulaski, TN.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Buddy Hughes, Tom Hughes, Jake Hughes and Donnie Hughes.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm on the Buffalo River off Harris Road in Waynesboro.
