Brenda Okalene (Glass) Williams

Mrs. Brenda Okalene Glass Williams was born in Lawrence County, TN on June 27, 1941 to her parents the late Mr. Coleman Ashford Glass and Mrs. Laura Mae Mosely Glass. Mrs. Williams spent her adult years working in several different occupations but spent most of her life working in the textile and garment industry as a seamstress. She would meet and marry her husband Mr. Billy Williams and the two would settle in Waynesboro, TN intertwining their hearts and families raising their children and making precious memories for the next 42 years. Mrs. Williams was a spiritually minded woman as she was a member of the Church of Christ. Still, she held no other moments close to her heart as the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. All who knew her will remember her as a strong, loving mother, grandmother and loving friend. Mrs. Brenda Okalene Glass Williams passed from this life on October 16, 2025 in Savannah, TN making her life on this earth some 84 years and 3 months.

Those left to honor her memory include her children Barry Wayne Townsend and wife Barbara of Rainsville, AL and Joel Brice Townsend and wife Crystal of Savannah, TN; step-children Carla Staggs and husband Bryan and Angie Staggs all of Waynesboro, TN; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren as well as many other family members, friends and loved ones.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday October 18, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Waynesboro, TN with Brant Sanders officiating. Burial will follow chapel services in the Shields Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will begin Saturday October 18, 2025 beginning at 11:00 am till 1:00 pm service time.

Pallbearers included Austin Staggs, Brian Staggs, Brice Townsend, Jacob Townsend and Ronald Simth.
