Anita Louise (Whitehead) Sims

Anita Louise Whitehead Sims was born January 21, 1955 in Lauderdale County Alabama to the union of the late Sam and Louise Watson Whitehead. She was united in marriage to James Sims on March 19, 1971. Mr. Sims preceded her in death on June 16, 2023. Mrs. Anita was a proud member of the Collinwood Senior Citizens Center. This was one of the many places her bigger than life personality could shine. She loved to spend time crafting and dancing. Without a doubt, many will remember her love for flashy leggings and her beloved toe shoes. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was proud to be able to serve her Lord every day in her life and was a proud member of Williams Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Anita departed this life for her eternal reward on Thursday, December 12, 2024 in Lawrenceburg, TN making her stay in this life some 69 years, 10 months, and 22 days.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children, Sandra Sims of Collinwood, TN; Ronnie Sims and wife April of Florence, AL; her siblings, Donnie Whitehead and wife Sue of Florence, AL; Sandra Gail Whitehead of Decatur, AL; Mike Whitehead and wife Paige of Sheffield, AL; Andy Whitehead; Melissa Ragsdale; and Tony Scott all of Florence, AL; three grandchildren, Matt James and wife Kristen of Florence, AL; Maggie Scott and husband Kyle of Lutts, TN; Eli Sims of Florence, AL; She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Ella Scott, Saylor Scott, Calvary Scott, Maddie Kate James, and Macyn James.

In addition to her parents and husband of 52 years, she is preceded in death by her brother, Doyce Whitehead.

Visitation with Mrs. Anita's family will be on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM all at Williams Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. 

Memorial Services will be conducted on Monday, December 16, 2024 beginning at 1:00 PM at Williams Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Camryn Eaton and David Lambert officiating.
